The Center is sponsoring a talk at the Mercantile Library by Dr. Sarah Richardson, Professor of the History of Science and of Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard. Dr. Richardson will discuss genetics and social issues, with a focus on her new book The Maternal Impact.

Fall 2019: The Science & Nature Lecture: A Three-Part Series
In Fall of 2019 the Center sponsored a three part series on climate change at the Mercantile Library entitled “The Science & Nature Lecture.” The three events were included: Understanding Climate Change, Climate Change and Social Justice, and Climate Change and Cincinnati Life.
Fall 2018: Adrian Currie Talk
In Fall of 2018 the Center sponsored a talk by Dr. Adrian Currie, who is Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Philosophy, and Anthropology at University of Exeter. His talk, entitled The Marsupial Bulldog’s Tale: How Creative Speculative Science Makes Sense of a Messy World, was on his book, Rock, Bone and Ruin. The book is an argument that we should be optimistic about the capacity of geologists, paleontologists, and archaeologists to uncover the deep past.
