Sustainability@UC Week is a week full of events and activities related to sustainability and the environment for UC students, researchers, educators, staff, and the public. Events include a special guest lecture (open to the public), the presentation of the Sustainability Awards, workshops aimed at sustainability educators, campus tours, student activities, and more! Each year beginning in 2024, PEWS has been a proud host of Sustainability@UC Week, organized in collaboration with the UC Office of Sustainability, the School of Environment and Sustainability (SEaS), and Student Government.

Sustainability@UC Week 2025

Sustainability@UC Week 2025 was developed in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability, the School of Environment and Sustainability (SEaS), Student Government, and many other organizations across UC, which allowed for the creation of a more extensive and wide-reaching program of events than in years past. Events included a campus opportunities fair, a collaborative grant planning workshop, a sustainable art show, and a film festival. View the schedule of events for Sustainability@UC Week 2025 here!
This year’s guest speaker was Dr. Niall Kirkwood, from the Harvard Graduate School of Design, who gave a talk titled Beyond Brownfields: Nature, Design and Urban Regeneration in the Post-Industrial Landscape.
Sustainability@UC Week 2024

The first Sustainability@UC Week was organized by PEWS in January 2024, with support from the Research2030 Initiative of the UC Office of Research and a UC Provost Office Faculty Award. The week featured a sustainability education lunch, a student organization workshop, and a public lecture by Dr. Mitchell Thomashow, a leader in environmental learning.
