Environmental Justice and Advocacy Symposium 2023 – Climate, Air, and Activism

Dr. Peter Kalmus, climate scientist at NASA; PEWS faculty affiliate Dr. Amy Townsend-Small; Dr. Angelico Mendy, Brittany McCubbin and Emmanuel-Sathya Gray will share insights on Climate, Air, and Activism at the event. Green Umbrella Public Health Impacts from Climate Change in Greater Cincinnati

Join Green Umbrella and Scioto Analysis for a webinar about the anticipated health impacts from climate change in Greater Cincinnati. Scioto Analysis will cover a report analyzing how climate change will exacerbate existing and forthcoming public health issues. Green Umbrella will then highlight opportunities for engagement and action on these issues. Speakers include Rob Moore, Michael Hartnett, and Savannah Sullivan. Woodland Wonders
Everyday, Saturday, December 9 – Saturday, January 6, 10 am – 5 pm daily (except Christmas), Rowe Visitor Center, Cincinnati Nature Center
This holiday tradition features the artwork of renown American artist and illustrator, Charley Harper, and many other local artists who are inspired by Nature Center’s Woodland Wonders. Free print with $50 Charley Harper purchase. Brought to you by The Nature Shop at Rowe Woods with 100% of store proceeds support the mission. This is a drop-in exhibition; no registration required. Members free; nonmembers pay daily admission at the gate.
Nature Encounters
Occurs weekly on Saturdays, December 2 – December 30, 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM, Burnet Woods, 3251 Brookline Ave, Cincinnati, OH
Winter is coming! Join the City of Cincinnati Office of Environment and Sustainability’s – Nature Encounters program each and every Saturday at the Trailside Nature Center for a variety of nature themed programming. You can have a discussion on Pine Trees & Pinecone Birdfeeders, learn about Owls, read winter books & make a craft and know more about Sustainability on 2nd, 9th, 16th and 30th December respectively. All programs are free and FUN!
